Event Details

Toplined by a performance by comedy legend Gilbert Gottfried as well as national comedy stars Donnell Rawlings and Orny Adams and the return of “Evil Dead: The Musical,” Pensacola’s first comedy festival features a wide variety of events to entertain, educate and enjoy, from stand-up and improv to musical theatre and a film festival, and much, much more.

Your $40 weekend pass includes:

IMPROV: Performances by Pensacola’s beloved improv troupe, Improvable Cause, as well as Orlando long-form improv experts The Hat and the Hatnot at The REX Theatre Pensacola.

SKETCH COMEDY: Direct from YouTube, Pensacola-based sketch comedy troupe Kitty Get a Job presents its first live show, “Occupational Hazards,” at the Rex Theatre.

FILM: Check out hilarious short films competing for awards in our juried film festival at the Rex Theatre. The Rex will also host the Pensacola debut of the locally produced, feature-length comedy, “ Wasted Hours,” and locally produced TV pilot, “Scam County.” Last but not least, laugh along with the cast of WSRE’s Nightmare Theatre as they present a live episode including a screening of the comedy classic, “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.”

STAND-UP COMEDY: Literally dozens of stand-up comedians have been assembled by Stingers Comedy to perform throughout the weekend at five downtown venues: Casks And Flights Wine Tasting Room, chizuko, Odd Colony Brewing Co., O'Riley's Irish Pub Downtown and Perfect Plain Brewing Co.

WORKSHOPS: Learn about the art of comedy from some of the funniest people at the festival. From stand-up to improv and from character creation to comedy film production, there’s something for everyone.

PANELS: Get a look behind the scenes of Pensacola’s hit production of “Evil Dead: The Musical” and meet the cast and crew, plus participate in dozens of stimulating and hilarious discussions throughout the weekend with festival comics and more.

AND MUCH MORE: It all starts with a kickoff party Thursday night, and other entertainment throughout the weekend will include game shows and other fun audience events. Friday night will feature a comedy music showcase at World of Beer, and a Saturday night street party will feature a plethora of street performers
