Diane Roberts brings her razor-sharp commentary to Havana at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 26th. Social hour and refreshments starts at 6 p.m.

Event Details

Diane Roberts is an eighth-generation Floridian, with family roots in Washington County, Wakulla County and Tallahassee. She was educated at the University School in Tallahassee, Florida State and Oxford University in England from which she received her Ph.D. She taught at the University of Alabama for 14 years, then returned home to FSU where her football loyalties lie.

She is a contributor to NPR, the BBC, and has written for magazines and newspapers including The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Times of London, the New Republic and Prospect.

She is the author of four books:

1. Faulkner and Southern Womanhood (1992)

2. The Myth of Aunt Jemima (1993)

3. Dream State: Eight Generations of Swamp Lawyers, Conquistadors, Confederate Daughters, Banana Republicans and Other Florida Wildlife (2005)

4. Tribal: College Football and the Secret Heart of America (2015)
